My Husband has been encouraging me to start a food blog or just a blog in general for years. I have pushed back with the excuse that there a billion blogs out there and no one will ever want to read mine and I am not a good writer, yada yada.
Well obviously as you can see I have caved in, I threw in the towel and said what the heck I’ll give it a shot.
So here is a bit about me. I am a child of God saved in my 20’s and so grateful for what the Lord has shown me and guided me through over the years. I am married to my very best friend and adventure buddy. He is so beyond handsome and intelligent and better than anything he lets me try out my recipes that I find on him and doesn’t run out of the room screaming if they don’t go well. 🙂
I work in a kitchen cooking for a company and a daycare during the week which helps keep me on my toes on what to do during those “oh crap” moments when you don’t have all the ingredients you need….you know you’ve been there 😉
Inside my own kitchen I love to cook yummy food while still sticking to a budget and keeping our waist lines in check. Some people just say “oh you just cook healthy”, but I see my cooking as practical and nourishing. Don’t get me wrong we splurge in this kitchen…..I love my pizza, burgers, fries, and desserts, but I have always believed that there is a balance to all of it. I am not perfect and no I am not a nutritionist, but I do appreciate using fresh fruits, veggies, grains, and lean meats in my cooking. I enjoy the challenge of taking what some people would consider “healthy and expensive” ingredients and making them taste good without wiping out the check book….if anyone still uses those 🙂
